The Beloit College website is temporarily down
Beloit College and its utility are currently replacing the main switch that supplies electricity to the campus. As a result, the college’s power, library resources, and website are down temporarily. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
We don’t like to cast stones, but the culprit behind this unfortunately timed repair, is (was!) a snake. Out enjoying the warming weather, it slithered across a transformer on Wednesday morning and temporarily knocked out power to the campus and the surrounding neighborhoods. In the process, he/she also critically injured our power switch, resulting in this necessary repair.
Power – and the website – should be restored later this evening. Students, faculty, and staff, who have been apprised of this work and notified of resulting schedule changes, will be updated by email when this work is completed.
If you have emergency needs during this period, please call Beloit Security at 608-363-2355.
Updates will also be posted to the Beloit College Facebook page.
